Meet Kass + Penny

Kass French and her dog Penny on a trail looking at each other.

With a post-graduate certificate in Sports Psychology and a history of coaching marathon athletes for over five years, I am deeply passionate about the healing power of movement and the outdoors. As an 8-time marathon finisher, I understand the transformative impact physical activity can have on our mental well-being. If desired, I offer walk-and-talk sessions in Wompatuck Park or the Whitney Thayer trail system in Cohasset as an alternative to traditional office-based sessions.

At the core of my approach is a strengths-based perspective. I am dedicated to helping you identify and leverage your unique strengths as you embark on a path of personal growth and empowerment.

I am genuinely excited to meet and support you on your path toward healing and self-discovery. Contact me today to schedule a session and begin your transformative path.

“I am deeply passionate about the healing
power of movement
and the outdoors.”

In my clinical practice, laughter and tears are both welcomed and valued. Healing involves recognizing the power of both strength and vulnerability within our interpersonal connections. During our sessions, you can expect a space where smiles, laughter, and even the company of my black lab, Penelope, play a role in creating a warm and comforting environment.

As a licensed psychotherapist specializing in anxiety, depression, and identity development, I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals navigating emotional distress stemming from life transitions. Whether you're facing college transitions, grief, coming out as LGBTQ+, or going through a divorce, I aim to help you grieve the loss of your original life vision while gently guiding you toward developing a strong and empowered sense of self.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bucknell University with a minor in Education and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. With over 14 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques, along with a Narrative therapeutic approach, into my sessions. Additionally, I am in the process of becoming certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful therapy technique for trauma healing.

  • Client Testimonials

"I had considered therapy multiple times over my life; but becoming a mom was the thing that pushed me to take action. Although my relationship with Kass started with a focus on helping me manage my postpartum anxiety–it has evolved to her supporting me through a deeper healing process that has improved a number of facets of my life. She is my trusted guide and I couldn't imagine doing it without her."

  • Client Testimonials

"Working with Kass has been transformative to my emotional and physical well-being. Our work together has assisted me tremendously in transitioning into adolescence from high school and through college, as we have focused on finding my voice and building trust and value in myself. I am learning to sit with difficult emotions instead of running from them, to become more reflective, and more attuned to my health, body and mind. Our sessions continue to shape me into becoming strong and independent, proud of who I am, and excited for what's ahead."

  • Client Testimonials

“I am delighted to share my experience with Kass over the past few years. I came to her after years of therapy with another practitioner, and I was feeling stuck.

One of the things that sets her apart is her incredible patience. She never rushed or pressured me to discuss things before I was ready. Instead, she allowed me to bring up topics at my own pace, creating a safe space for me to explore my thoughts and emotions comfortably. Her genuine care and support have been invaluable in my journey towards self-improvement and healing. I am grateful to have her as my therapist.”
