Trailhead Counseling Center offers 50-minute therapy sessions.

Insurance Accepted:

Trailhead Counseling Center accepts various insurance plans to facilitate affordable access to our services. We currently work with the following insurance providers:

• Optum/United Healthcare

• BlueCross and BlueShield

• Harvard Pilgrim

• Mass General Brigham Health Plan

• Unicare

Private Pay Options:

Each clinician has a unique private pay cost ranging from $130-$170/session. Please review the Team page to determine your desired clinician’s private pay cost.

Some individuals may be able to use their out-of-network (OON) insurance benefits to receive partial reimbursement for individual psychotherapy sessions when privately paying. Clients will need to contact their individual insurance carrier to determine these benefits. Trailhead will provide these clients with monthly superbills that clients can submit to their insurance carrier for partial reimbursement.

Why private pay? Some clients choose private pay so that therapy is not dictated by diagnoses, treatment plans, and session limits. Mental health diagnoses must be submitted to insurance companies for reimbursement, and some clients choose to keep their therapy experience private.

All payments will be collected by credit card (most major credit cards or HSA cards) at the end of each visit, which will be stored electronically using HIPAA-compliant medical records software.
