Cassie Mayo, MA
Clinical Experience
Before obtaining her master’s degree in counseling psychology, Cassie spent her summers working with and supporting young adults at a summer camp in New Hampshire. This experience grew Cassie’s drive to help and support others, as well as fostering a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Throughout her time in graduate school at Northeastern University, Cassie gained experience working with individuals struggling with eating disorders in a residential level of care. This experience allowed Cassie to grow in understanding and compassion for those grappling with body image concerns and disordered eating, utilizing an integrated approach of CBT, DBT, and person-centered modalities. Through this, Cassie gained experience working with those facing depression, anxiety, OCD, borderline personality disorder, and a variety of eating disorder diagnoses.
Clinical Approach
Cassie is dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate relationships, life transitions, disordered eating, anxiety, and depression. She understands that change can feel overwhelming and strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered in their journey toward healing.
Utilizing a person-centered approach, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cassie tailors each session to meet the unique needs of her clients. She helps individuals build insight into their experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and foster resilience in the face of life’s challenges. Her warm, collaborative style allows clients to feel supported while also encouraging growth and meaningful change.
